Our Young Person Resilience Workers play an integral role within Change Grow Live, engaging young people in a range of interventions, using a young person-centred approach, and empowering our young service users to reduce risk, increase resilience and lead a safe, happy, and healthy lives.

 

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our successful EASY Project service, for under 18s.  You will have the skills to work effectively with young people who use substances and an ability to work confidently with other agencies and professionals. You will be delivering assessment, harm reduction and treatment interventions, to young people, across Ealing borough on an outreach basis.

 

You will deliver targeted small-group interventions to young people focused on drug and alcohol awareness, education, and prevention. The role also involves engaging with young people at community events and providing training and guidance for professionals and families.

Hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: £28,557.79 - £32,802.41 pro rata

Allowance: Inner London Weighting (£4,236.47)

Responsibilities

About the role:

 

  • To engage young people in a range of interventions, utilising a young person centred approach, empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience and lead a safe, happy andhealthy lives.
  • Supporting young people from point of entry into the service and through their support journey.
  • Engage young people who are using substances and provide them with advice, support and structured interventions to support their health and wellbeing needs.
  • Providing screening, assessment, psychosocial interventions, integrated care planning, post treatment support, including transfer of care.
  • Identifying and responding effectively to potential safeguarding issues.
  • Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to young people and the wider community.
  • Promoting carer, service user and community involvement.
  • Carry out comprehensive young people's assessments and develop individual care plans that clearly identify how achieving each goal will enable progression in addressing substance use and related outcomes.
  • Working with young people to support positive, holistic outcomes in relation to their health and wellbeing, enabling them to lead safer and healthier lives: reducing risk and increasing resilience.
  • Supporting and providing advocacy for young people by participating in all relevant multi agency meetings, for example: Child Protection meetings, Complex Case Review panels, etc.
  • Networking and attending community events.
  • Developing and delivering workshops and training for young people, professionals and other associated people, such as parents and carers.

About you:

 

  • Experience of working with young people.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding concerns in relation to children and young people.
  • Excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field.
  • Accomplished written and verbal communication skills and a high degree of personal IT competency.
  • Knowledge of working with evidence based practice around young people’s substance misuse treatment services and methods, including relevant best practice guidance.
  • A commitment to multi-agency working and establishing partnerships with other professionals to achieve good outcomes for the service user group.
  • Excellent team working and interpersonal skills, maintaining a highly cooperative approach to supporting colleagues in delivering service objectives.
