Under the supervision of a senior registered Psychologist, you will ensure that people who access our services receive high quality care that adheres to best practice and evidence-based guidelines, improving the psychological well-being of people in our care.     

Our model emphasises physical, psychological, and emotional safety and helps people to rebuild a sense of control and empowerment in their lives and in their communities. The post holder will work to ensure that psychological perspectives are central to everyone’s thinking. They will support the empowerment of teams and individuals to increase knowledge, skills, and professional confidence around the needs of the people who access our services. Through consultancy, reflective practice, team formulation, training and clinical case management, the post holder will help the wider team create an innovative and effective trauma-informed service. 

You will be part of our national Psychology Team who will provide opportunities for reflective practice, peer support, research, and CPD. 

 

There may be scope for additional hours above the 3 days per week advertised, for the right candidate, subject to service need and funding.

 

Cambridgeshire Drug and Alcohol Service, Change Grow Live
Permanent | 22.5 hours per week / 3 days per week | Cambridgeshire Countywide
Base: Cambridge, Huntingdon or Wisbech, with travel across Cambridgeshire expected

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours. 

Responsibilities

About you:

 

  • Provide focused support to deliver against the role primary functions as listed above these will lead all delivery and activity and should be considered the primary role specific responsibilities ahead of all others noted.
  • As part of the local service team, provide clinical leadership; supporting your own services development to deliver psychology, psychosocial therapy and talking therapies, and linkage to relevant local pathways for support.
  • Provide consultation, training and clinical supervision to junior psychologists inclusive of assistant psychologists, multidisciplinary professionals and non-clinical colleagues to support the provision of psychologically-based interventions.
  • Provide highly specialist, psychological assessment and formulation for the people who use our services.
  • Promote and contribute to multidisciplinary assessments that reflect an understanding of the impact of adverse experiences on a persons mental health and overall well-being.

 

About the role:

 

  • Experience of working as a psychologist and/or successful completion of a preceptorship.
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment of people across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in-patient settings.
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of people, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity.
  • Experience of the application of Clinical or Counselling Psychology in different contexts.
  • Experience of working within a trauma-informed framework.
  • Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
