Research Recovery Worker

About the role:  

• Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey  
• Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral  
• Managing a caseload 
• Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community  
• Develop effective working relationships with equivalent postholders and multidisciplinary research teams across participating trial sites to promote collaboration and consistency.
• Liaise professionally with study sponsors, trial management organisations, and other external stakeholders to support successful trial delivery and governance.
• Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination  
• Deliver structured content within group settings to service users at various stages of recovery  
• Tailor specific workshops around the needs of the service users, such as: anger management, sleep disorders, relationships, etc
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of research protocols, clinical interventions, and study procedures, ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with the approved protocol and study design.
• Identify and engage potential participants who may be suitable for inclusion in the trial.

About you:  

• Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field  
• Experience of working with groups/pods and managing group dynamics, such as conflict or challenging behaviour.  
• Accomplished written and verbal communication skills and a high degree of personal IT competency. The ability to accurately update and maintain records in a timely fashion and to work to deadlines for the submission of information, e.g. reports.
• Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice  
• Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
• Strong team collaboration skills; able to work independently and exercise initiative
• Proven ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
• Previous experience of working with relevant patient groups
