You’ll engage people who may be caught in a cycle of substance use and reoffending, often alongside trauma, complex circumstances and unmet needs. Working collaboratively with each person, prison colleagues and community partners, you’ll address immediate needs and coordinate the support required for release.

Your approach will be trauma-informed, compassionate and focused on helping people build resilience, reconnect with their communities and move towards safer, more stable lives.

  • Help identify and engage people with histories of substance use, reoffending and custodial sentences.
  • Work with individuals, carers and communities to reduce drug- and alcohol-related harm.

About you

You’ll bring a determined, solutions-focused approach and experience of engaging people with multiple or complex needs.

You’ll also have:

  • Experience of supporting people with offending backgrounds, including those subject to Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements.
  • A good understanding of the criminal justice system and anti-social behaviour legislation.
  • Knowledge of mental health interventions, services and good practice.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and IT skills.
  • The confidence to work independently, manage competing priorities and use your initiative.
  • The ability to work effectively with a wide range of professionals, agencies and stakeholders.
  • The ability to manage change while keeping the needs of people using our services at the centre of your work.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain the required prison security clearance.
