Overview

Believe in People?

So Do We.

Every woman deserves to feel heard, respected and able to move forward.

At Change Grow Live Southwark, we work alongside women affected by substance use, trauma, homelessness and multiple disadvantage, helping them build safety, confidence and greater independence.

We are looking for a compassionate and determined Women's Recovery Coordinator to join our team. This is a role where trust matters, persistence makes a difference and no two days are ever the same.

You will support women from their first contact with the service and throughout their treatment and recovery journey, providing trauma-informed interventions, practical guidance and strong advocacy.

What you will do

You will manage a small caseload of women and provide recovery-focused harm reduction interventions, structured psychosocial support and practical assistance.

You will complete screening, assessment and recovery planning, deliver one-to-one and group-based support, and help women access housing, health, benefits and other specialist services.

You will also:

  • Support women affected by substance use, trauma and homelessness.
  • Help women move towards and maintain stable accommodation.
  • Provide clear harm reduction advice and structured recovery support.
  • Advocate for women facing barriers to housing, health, benefits and other services.
  • Encourage the development of life skills, resilience, peer support and recovery capital.
  • Undertake assertive outreach across the Southwark community.
  • Work closely with housing, mental health, criminal justice and community partners.
  • Promote safeguarding, professional integrity and safe working practices.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records.
  • Help build a positive recovery community within the service and beyond.

Occupational requirement

As this role involves working exclusively with women who have experienced trauma, there is a genuine occupational requirement for applicants to be women, in accordance with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

Where you will work

Location: Southwark
Hours: 37.5 hours Full Time*
*Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and any associated payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About you

You will bring a thoughtful understanding of how trauma, homelessness and wider disadvantage can shape a woman’s experiences, choices and relationship with substances.

You will know how to build trust with compassion, listen without judgement and adapt your approach to what each woman needs. You will be organised, calm and able to work with confidence, both independently and as part of a supportive team.

You will also bring:

  • Experience of working with women experiencing trauma, vulnerability or multiple disadvantage.
  • A good understanding of substance use, harm reduction and recovery.
  • Knowledge of housing, benefits and budgeting issues.
  • Strong advocacy skills and the confidence to challenge barriers to support.
  • Experience of partnership and multi-agency working.
  • Clear written, verbal and digital communication skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and some public holidays when required.

What we will give to you

  • 25 days’ holiday, plus bank holidays, rising by one day for each year of service, capped at 30 days.
  • A paid Wellness hour each week.
  • Access to our Wellness hub and Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Contributory pension scheme.
  • Discounts for shopping, cinema, holidays and more.
  • A supportive and welcoming team.
  • Training, career development and progression opportunities.
