We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Children & Families Impact Worker to join our Kirklees service. This is an exciting opportunity to support children, young people and families affected by parental drug and alcohol use, helping to reduce the impact of hidden harm and break the cycle of intergenerational trauma.

Working closely with families, partner agencies and local communities, you'll deliver meaningful interventions that build resilience, strengthen relationships and help children achieve better outcomes.

This role is ideal for someone looking for the flexibility of part-time hours, or for an experienced professional ready to return to the sector and make a meaningful impact.

Hours: Part time 30 hours per week

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract of 6-month (Maternity Cover)

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

About the role

You'll work alongside children, young people and families affected by parental substance use, providing compassionate, practical and evidence-based support that helps families move towards safer, healthier and more stable futures.

Working collaboratively with schools, Children's Services, healthcare professionals and other partner agencies, you'll identify families who would benefit from a whole-family approach and help coordinate support that reflects their individual strengths and needs.

You'll deliver one-to-one, group and family interventions, contribute to safeguarding and safety planning, advocate on behalf of children and families, and help develop innovative resources and programmes that strengthen our Hidden Harm offer across the service.

You'll also play an active role in multi-agency meetings, reviews and child protection processes, ensuring the voices and needs of children remain central to every decision.

About you

You'll understand the lasting impact that parental substance use can have on children and families and be passionate about helping them build resilience and positive futures.

You'll be someone who builds trusted relationships, works collaboratively with others and approaches every family with empathy, curiosity and compassion.

You'll bring:

• Experience of working with children, young people and families experiencing multiple and complex needs.
• Experience of delivering one-to-one, group and family-based interventions.
• Experience of assessment, care planning, case management and review.
• Experience of working alongside Children's Services, schools, healthcare providers and other key partners.
• The ability to work confidently within safeguarding processes and multi-agency environments.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and advocacy skills.
• An understanding of the Hidden Harm agenda would be beneficial, although this is not essential as training and support will be provided.
