Overview

Outreach Recovery Champion

North Northamptonshire | Corby Based | Full Time | Permanent

Your experience could change someone's future.

Recovery is powerful.

Not because it changes what happened in the past, but because it creates possibilities for what comes next.

At Change Grow Live, we know that some of the most inspiring recovery journeys are led by people who have walked the path themselves. People who understand the challenges, recognise the barriers and can show others that change is possible.

We're looking for an Outreach Recovery Champion to join our North Northamptonshire service, based in Corby, helping people take their first steps towards recovery and supporting them to build lives that are healthier, safer and more fulfilling.

This is more than a role. It's an opportunity to use your lived experience to create hope, build confidence and help others believe in their own potential.

Why this role matters

Recovery doesn't happen in isolation.

For many people, the journey towards lasting change begins with a single conversation, a trusted relationship, or someone who believes in their potential before they believe in it themselves.

As an Outreach Recovery Champion, you'll work alongside people who are experiencing substance use challenges, rough sleeping, homelessness, or are at risk of losing their accommodation. Using your lived experience and recovery-focused approach, you'll help individuals identify their strengths, build recovery capital and develop the confidence, connections and opportunities needed to achieve long-term, sustained recovery.

Working across communities, partner organisations and local services, you'll engage people who may be disconnected from support, helping them access treatment, rebuild relationships and take positive steps towards healthier, more stable lives. Through one-to-one support, group-based interventions and outreach activity, you'll empower individuals to make meaningful changes, reduce harm and move towards secure accommodation, improved wellbeing and greater independence.

Most importantly, you'll ensure the people we support are heard. You'll amplify their voice, champion their strengths and help shape services around what matters most to them—creating opportunities for recovery, connection and lasting change.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for someone who has lived experience of recovery and wants to use that experience to support others.

You'll bring:

  • Personal experience of recovery from substance use
  • A passion for helping others achieve positive change
  • An understanding of the challenges people face when accessing support
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The confidence to work independently and as part of a wider team
  • A commitment to maintaining professional boundaries
  • A willingness to learn, develop and grow professionally

Most importantly, you'll be someone who believes that recovery is possible and wants to help others realise that too.
