Our Barnet Service supports individuals who are experiencing drug and/or alcohol issues. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play an important role in helping individuals access the support they need to move forward in their recovery journey.

 

As an Entry Into Service Recovery  Worker you will be the first point of contact for individuals seeking support, ensuring a welcoming, professional, and person-centred approach.

 

You will play a key role in engaging new service users, carrying out initial assessments, personalise assesments and supporting individuals to access appropriate treatment and recovery teams, in both the Barnet  and satelitte services.

 

Where: Barnet

Hours: Full time, 37.5 per week (this post will include weekend and evening work)

 

 

*Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

 

Responsibilities

Details about the role: 

  • Act as the first point of contact for new referrals into the service.
  • Providing screening, assessments and onward referrals.
  • Assessment of need including current drug use; drug history; physical and mental health; social situation and risk assessment
  • Conduct initial screenings and assessments to identify needs and risks and providing harm reduction and recovery-focused interventions and advice. 
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and partner agencies
 

 

About you: 

 

  • Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field 
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills 
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills 
  • Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice 
  • Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders 
  • Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users 
  • Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards 
  • Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others.
  • An ability to work with and manage challenging behaviour.
  • AVailability to work weekends and evenings.
