The Criminal Justice Team Leader for North Northamptonshire (covering Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough) is responsible for leading and coordinating the delivery of drug and alcohol interventions across all elements of the criminal justice pathway. This includes working closely with prisons, probation services, police, courts, and wider partner agencies to ensure individuals are engaged in treatment at the earliest opportunity and supported through to sustained recovery.

The role provides day-to-day leadership to frontline staff, ensuring safe, consistent and high-quality practice, with a strong focus on risk management, safeguarding and reducing reoffending. The postholder will oversee complex and high-risk cases, support effective transitions between custody and community services, and ensure continuity of care across pathways.

A key part of the role is building and maintaining strong multi-agency relationships, representing the service in partnership forums, and ensuring clear communication and shared responsibility for outcomes. The role requires a visible leadership presence across all three localities, responding to local need, and embedding a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach in line with CGL values and the wider North Northamptonshire system.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clear and consistent leadership across multiple sites, supporting, supervising and developing staff while promoting accountability, reflective practice and team cohesion
  • Use strong criminal justice knowledge to build positive relationships with probation, courts, police and prisons, representing the service confidently in multi‑agency and partnership settings.
  • Maintain oversight of complex and high‑risk cases, ensuring robust risk assessment, safety planning and confident, timely decision‑making.
  • Manage caseloads, workflow and staff capacity to support strong engagement, retention and completion outcomes, ensuring timely access to treatment and continuity of care.
  • Oversee end‑to‑end criminal justice pathways, supporting effective transitions from custody to community and working closely with prescribing, outreach and recovery teams.
  • Uphold high standards of quality, governance and compliance, including accurate recording, data quality, policy adherence and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate clearly and constructively with staff, partners and service users, building trust, offering support and challenging appropriately where needed.
  • Respond positively to changing service demands, balancing priorities across locations with a proactive, solution‑focused approach.
  • Demonstrate a non‑judgemental, trauma‑informed, strengths‑based approach that promotes inclusion, respect and recovery‑focused outcomes.

The successful candidate will need to complete an enhanced DBS check and obtain MOJ vetting.

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
