An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children & Families Worker to join a dynamic team committed to supporting young people who have been affected by someone's drug and/or alcohol use.  You will engage children, young people (CYP) and families in a range of support and interventions relating to familial substance use with the aim of increasing resilience and preventing intergenerational childhood trauma.

 

Where: Bromley

Full Time Hours: 37.5 hrs per week

Full Time Salary Range: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 dependent on experience, pro rata for part time hours

Allowance: Outer London Waiting (£2,195.72) pro rata

Contract Type: Permenant

Responsibilities

About the role:

  • To holistically support CYP affected by familial substance misuse, using a range of interventions including: 1:1 work, whole family interventions, safety planning and safeguarding
  • To share subject specific knowledge and skills across the team to support work force development
  • To provide advocacy, advice and support to family members where appropriate, to reduce risk and increase resilience
  • To support the development of resources, interventions and programmes to enhance the delivery of ‘hidden harm’ interventions
  • To attend planning meetings, reviews, child protection conferences and any other relevant decision making forums for CYP and families in need of support from the service

 About you:

  • Experience of working with families who have multiple risk factors
  • Experience of delivering 1:1 and group work, including evidenced based interventions
  • Experience of working with young people, families and children under the age of 18 years who are affected by substance misuse
  • Experience of working in close partnership with key stakeholders including Children’s Services, schools, primary care
  • Experience of undertaking comprehensive assessments, care-planning, case management and reviews
  • Clear understanding of the Hidden Harm agenda (desirable but not essential)
