Join us for an exciting opportunity to be part of and shape our brand-new Specialist Smoking Cessation Project in CGL Waltham Forest. We are seeking a Smoke Free Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality stop-smoking service, empowering individuals to take meaningful steps toward healthier lives. The position will focus on supporting those engaged with CGL’s substance misuse service to access appropriate smoking cessation provision, through the delivery of harm reduction, behaviour change and tobacco treatment provision.

These interventions will be delivered face-to-face within the community and will be tailored for individuals or delivered in a group setting, depending on their needs.

 

Location: Waltham Forest
Hours: Full time, 37.5h per week
*Full Time Salary: £25,077.00 - £26,502.53 (pro rata for part time)

Allowance: £2,195.72 Oyter London Weighting pro rata 

Contract: Permanent

 

 

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do

 

  • Provide brief advice and structured stop‑smoking programmes to individuals.
  • Support the service to promote the benefits of quitting smoking at events, venues and through local networks.
  • Build strong relationships with other professionals.
  • Tailor support to meet the needs of priority groups and ensure interventions reach those who need them most.
  • Keep accurate, up‑to‑date records using electronic systems.
  • Stay informed about national smoking cessation policy and best practice.
  • Play an active role in helping the service meet its targets and continuously improve.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Promoting the benefits of a smoke-free life and raising awareness of stop smoking services through community engagement and events.
  • Delivery of high quality harm reduction, behaviour change and treatment interventions
  • Work within NRT and E-cigarette protocols.
  • Engage with the community to raise awareness of smoking impacts and encourage referrals.

About You:

 

 

  • Experience working in health and/or social care settings.
  • Complete assessments and deliver interventions matched to identified needs
  • Knowledge of the harmful effects of smoking and an understanding of smoking cessation policies and treatments.
  • Provide behavioural support, using motivational interviewing techniques and the dispensing of Nicotine Replacement Products
  • A commitment to providing high-quality, person-centered services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic recording systems.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
