Are you prepared to make a profound impact on the lives affected by substance misuse? If so, we are seeking a Senior practitioner to lead x2 Advance-D practitioners in delivering and managing the Advance-D provision. Our ideal candidate will have previous substance misuse experience and a good knowledge of domestic abuse and is ready to move into a more senior role.

 

The post holder will have knowledge of substance misuse and domestic abuse perpetrators. The post will involve facilitating the accredited Advance programme to male perpetrator who commit domestic abuse, in a group work setting and supervising x2 staff members. They will work alongside Recovery Coordinators and local domestic abuse services, and will deliver a structured 16-week programme designed by Kings College London.

 

Where: Manchester 

Working Hours: Part-time 18.5 hours* per week

Full Time Salary Range: £32,002.35- £34,214.21*

Contract Type: Fixed Term of 12 months

 

*Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours. 

Responsibilities

About the role:  

  

  • To support in the development of and the facilitation of the ADVANCE perpetrator group work programme.
  • To provide substance misuse and harm minimisation advice and support to staff and service users.
  • Ensure robust pathways are maintained between My Recovery Tameside and Bridges Domestic abuse service.
  • To seek support and guidance from Safeguarding leads within my Recovery Tameside as required and utilise the multi-disciplinary team meetings to manage service user risk.
  • To attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings as required.
  • Be able to use the service case management system to accurately record group work attendance and engagement.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely recording of client data and information in order that the service operates within its requirements.
  • Ensure effective input into case management and coordination covering areas of risk with a particular focus on safeguarding children and adults, problematic behaviour, housing, social and family functioning, employability and psychological and physical health.
  • The ability to facilitate one to one and group sessions with service users using psychosocial interventions.
  • Liaise with the Recovery Coordinators to ensure risk management and the sharing of information.

 

 

About you:  

  

  • Be willing to undertake the Advance training programme with Kings
    College London.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with either Domestic abuse
    perpetrators or victims of abuse.
  • Confidence to deliver an accredited programme within a group setting
  • The ability to work with DV perpetrators on a one-to-one basis using
    psychosocial interventions
  • Confidence to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of
    services, representing the organisation and creating effective pathways.
  • Knowledge and experience of identifying Safeguarding risks and the
    ability to communicate and escalate incidents.
  • An understanding of substance misuse and how it contributes to an
    increase in domestic violent incidents.
  • The ability to engage and retain service users in the Advance program
  • Experience of working with case management systems and record
    accurate information.
