Smokefree Lancashire has been commissioned to deliver the stop smoking service across 12 districts of Lancashire. Our goal is to make smoking cessation a priority for everyone. We provide advice and information to people who want to quit smoking and develop personalised plans during one-to-one support sessions. We also offer groupwork sessions, pharmacotherapy and deliver training to our partner agencies.

 

We have an exciting opportunity for one Specialist Advisor to join our Smokefree Lancashire service. The new post holder will join our dedicated team, providing advice and information to people who want to quit smoking.

 

Location: Various hubs throughout Lancashire
Hours: Full time, 37.5h per week
*Full Time Salary: £25,077.00 - £26,502.53 (pro rata for part time)

Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities

What you’ll do

  • Provide brief advice and structured stop‑smoking programmes to individuals.
  • Support the service to promote the benefits of quitting smoking at events, venues and through local networks.
  • Build strong relationships with other professionals.
  • Tailor support to meet the needs of priority groups and ensure interventions reach those who need them most.
  • Keep accurate, up‑to‑date records using electronic systems.
  • Stay informed about national smoking cessation policy and best practice.
  • Play an active role in helping the service meet its targets and continuously improve.

 

About you

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience in a health or social care environment.
  • Knowledge of the harms of smoking and current national strategies relating to smoking cessation.
  • Understanding of available stop‑smoking treatments and interventions.
  • Experience delivering assessments and needs‑based interventions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Confidence maintaining accurate records and using Microsoft Office.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • The ability to engage positively with professionals and community stakeholders.
