Positive Choices is Change Grow Live’s confidential service in Coventry supporting young people between the ages of 5 and 24. We offer advice and guidance to young people who are affected by a loved one’s drug or alcohol misuse or if they are using drugs or alcohol themselves and want support to make changes. We also support young people around unhealthy partner relationships, sexual health and keeping safe online and in the community. We are an Award-Winning Service with a great reputation across the city looking to expand our team with people who want to make a real difference.

 

We are delighted to welcome potential candidates to apply for this innovative and exciting position at Positive Choices.  The Young Person's  Resilience Worker with Ketamine Specialist Lead will join a dynamic and passionate team who are dedicated to working towards achieving positive outcomes for young people.  The post holder will take responsibility, directed by the line manager, for the activity across the service that is targeted towards working with identified vulnerable groups who are at risk of developing issues with ketamine use.

Hours: 22.5* part time per week 

Contract Type: Fixed term 12 months

Salary: £27,861.26-£32,002.35* per annum (pro rata) 

 

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

 

Responsibilities

As a Young Person's Resilience Worker with a Ketamine Lead, you will be part of a city wide multi agency approach to tackle harms associated with ketamine. This will include providing support on social media and marketing campaigns, clinical pathways with partner agencies, external training, internal development as well as direct work with young people. This role will require someone who can work innovatively and think on their feet as well as the dynamics are constantly changing and updating with new information.

The post holder will be responsible for developing partnerships across the city to identify young people and young adults who are using ketamine. The post holder will engage and support young people and young adults who have current or previous experiences of ketamine through a multi-agency support package with a holistic approach.

The successful candidate will have experience of engaging with young people in a variety of settings and providing interventions in response to their needs.  They will know the physical and emotional issues caused by ketamine use and the ability to interact with a range of professionals.

The role is very rewarding, though it can be emotionally taxing. The team are very supportive and is always available for debrief. There is other support in place, such as supervision, a training and induction package, shadowing and team meetings.
