We have an exciting opportunity for a Enhanced Brief Intervention Worker to join our busy Barnet service to provide support as part of a pathway of care for available for alcohol related support in the city. Our new postholder will support people concerned about their own or their loved ones alcohol consumption levels.

Where: Barnet

Hours: Full Time, 37.5hrs per week

Salary: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 dependent on experience (based on full time hours, pro rata for part time)

Allowances: £2,195.72 Outer London Weighting (based on full time hours, pro rata for part time)

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

About the role:

• Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey
• Deliver specific interventions designed to reduce the harm caused by use of opiates via PODs or one to one working
• Ensure that service users receive a comprehensive, recovery-based detoxification service user plan; including support for preparation for detox and aftercare
• Work with other agencies and the community to build recovery capital for service users signposting to mutual aid and other networks
• Promote carer, service user and community involvement
• Provide advocacy for access to partnership services
• Work with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination

About you:

• Experience of providing harm reduction advice in relation to alcohol disorders/abuse
• Knowledge and experience of MI and CBT and of utilising these in 1-2-1 and/or group settings with alcohol clients.
• Experience of completing assessments and being able to identify specific needs
• Knowledge of the issues experienced by people affected by alcohol abuse/disorders e.g stigma, poverty, discrimination
