Birmingham Stop Smoking Service – Project Lead

 

An exciting secondment opportunity is available to lead our brand-new Specialist Smoking Cessation Project in CGL Birmingham’s Lonsdale Hub.

This is your chance to play a pivotal role in building a transformative project from the ground up, making a lasting impact on the health and well-being of individuals in our diverse and vibrant community.

We are seeking a Project Lead to manage the project. In this role, you will play a vital role in leading a high-quality stop-smoking project, empowering individuals to take meaningful steps toward healthier lives. The project will deliver harm reduction, behaviour change and tobacco treatment provision to all service users within the Lonsdale Hub. The position will focus on leading the implementation, development and continuous improvement of the project, including quality assurance, data recording and reporting, line management of advisors, and marketing and communications. The role will also conduct training across the community, and build strategic partnerships aimed at reducing smoking related harms for Lonsdale’s service users.

 

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Contract Type: Fixed Term ending 31st March 2027

*Full Time Salary Range: Salary Point 31 to 33 (£35,220.59 to £37,184.91)

 

* Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours. 

 

Responsibilities

About the Role:

In this role, you will lead a high-quality stop smoking service, helping individuals take steps toward healthier lives. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting the benefits of a smoke-free life and raising awareness of stop smoking services through community training, engagement and events.
  • Lead quality assurance, data reporting and continual improvement processes
  • Line manage the project smokefree advisors (1.5FTE) and data administrator (0.5FTE)
  • Delivery of high-quality harm reduction, behaviour change and treatment interventions
  • Work within NRT and E-cigarette protocols.
  • Engage with the community to raise awareness of smoking impacts and encourage referrals.

About You
We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience in implementing new projects and innovative initiatives.
  • Experience working in health and/or social care settings.
  • Complete assessments and deliver interventions matched to identified needs
  • Knowledge of the harmful effects of smoking and an understanding of smoking cessation policies and treatments.
  • A commitment to contributing to the national evidence base on stop smoking interventions for those with multiple and complex needs.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality, person-centered services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic recording systems.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
