Wear Recovery is a service for adults in Gateshead who are involved with substance misuse, we provide support to reduce the harms caused by substance use and help individuals change associated behaviours by providing clinical and psychosocial support. 

 

We are seeking a passionate and motivated person to join the Programmes team who provide structured group interventions to those at various stages in their recovery journey. Our structured group programmes compliment the support provided by Recovery Co-ordinators, clinical and administrative staff as part of a holistic treatment package.

 

If you are experienced in group delivery and familiar with the challenges faced by those with substance misuse issues then you would be ideal for this role.  You will be compassionate and organised with excellent communication skills and will have a working knowledge of delivering psychosocial interventions.

 

Where: Gateshead

Hours: Full time, 37.5hrs per week

Full time Salary: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 (based on full time hours, pro rata for part time)

 

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the Role:

 

  • To provide screening and assessment for structured psychosocial interventions.
  • To deliver the Foundations of Recovery Programme, and other structure psychosocial interventions
  • To create a safe space in service user groups for the expression of anxieties, exploration of feelings and sharing of experience
  • To work with psychology colleagues and other staff to research, design and prepare subject matter and materials for groups/pods.
  • To work with external colleagues and mutual aid groups to develop interventions that are suitable for our client groups.
  • Engage with debriefing and evaluations with co-facilitator/s after groups/pods have taken place.
  • Lead on graduation events for service users who have completed the programme.
  • To research and confirm community venues as needed
  • Support the client members to develop their own mutual support network
    outside of the group if they wish to do so.

 

About You:

 

  • Possess knowledge and experience in delivering interventions for service users affected by opiate use.
  • Excel in both verbal and written communication, with proficient IT skills.
  • Demonstrate proactive qualities, working independently with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Hold a strong understanding of mental health interventions, services, and best practices.
  • Thrive as a supportive team player with exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with a diverse range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Exhibit the ability to navigate change effectively, always prioritising the needs of service users.
  • Recognise the significance of information governance processes and commit to adhering to all necessary safeguards.
  • Pursue continuous learning opportunities to enhance your professional knowledge and skills, while also contributing to the growth and development of your colleagues.
