The details

  • Contract: Fixed-term until 31st March 2026

  • Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

  • Full Time Salary*: £25,077 per year (pro rata for part-time)

  • Allowance: £4,133.14 Inner London Weighting, pro rata

*Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

The opportunity

We are looking for DWP Peer Mentors to join our London teams. You’ll inspire and support people in recovery, helping them to manage their dependencies, access the right support, and take meaningful steps towards employment and independence.

 

This is a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2026

 

 

Responsibilities

What you’ll do

  • Inspire and support mentees through their recovery journey.

  • Build strong one-to-one relationships, understanding goals and aspirations.

  • Empower and increase confidence, offering emotional support when needed.

  • Collaborate with mentees on action plans, reviewing and tracking progress.

  • Work closely with DWP work coaches and local substance misuse services.

  • Maintain clear records and evaluate impact to evidence positive change.

What you’ll bring

  • Lived experience of substance misuse and recovery.

  • Strong written, verbal and IT skills.

  • An empathetic, non-judgemental approach to building relationships.

  • Confidence to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

  • Resilience, calmness and professionalism under pressure.

  • Ability to maintain clear professional boundaries.

  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise effectively.
