As an Alcohol Worker in our Sefton service, you’ll play a vital role in supporting people on their recovery journey. You’ll carry out assessments and develop personalised recovery plans, deliver tailored one-to-one and group interventions, and provide outreach support to individuals such as street drinkers. Working closely with local partners, you’ll help reduce alcohol-related harm and promote long-term recovery, ensuring people receive the right support at the right time.

 

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week

*Full Time Salary: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 dependent on experience 

 

*Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours. 

 

Responsibilities

About the Role

In this role you will provide support and interventions to people primarily affected by alcohol use. Your work will involve:

  • Carrying out assessments of need, including current use, history, health, and social situation.

  • Developing personalised recovery plans with service users.

  • Delivering alcohol-specific interventions, both one-to-one and through group work.

  • Running community groups/pods to support people at different stages of recovery.

  • Reducing alcohol-related harm and supporting safer choices.

  • Working in partnership with local agencies to develop effective care pathways.

  • Providing outreach to individuals such as street drinkers, supporting them to engage with treatment.

  • Promoting resilience, peer support, and long-term recovery.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in working with people affected by alcohol or substance use.

  • Confident in managing challenging behaviour with empathy and professionalism.

  • Skilled in building relationships and engaging with people from diverse backgrounds.

  • Knowledgeable about safeguarding and supporting vulnerable adults.

  • Organised, proactive, and able to reflect on and improve your practice.

  • A true team player who values inclusion, transparency, and continuous learning.
