This is an exciting opportunity to take on a strategic leadership role as our Regional West Midlands Criminal Justice Partnership Lead. You will work at the heart of our Probation Community Rehabilitation Team, engaging and influencing highly skilled colleagues across the criminal justice sector — from Courts and Youth Justice to Probation, Prisons, and Police.

Your work will improve systems, processes, and engagement models, fostering better collaboration and responsiveness that helps people achieve recovery and move away from offending.

This is a great opportunity to work at a strategic level, strengthen partnerships, and have a real impact on outcomes for people across the West Midlands.

Responsibilities

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Lead on the development of criminal justice elements of the OHID drug strategy within Substance Misuse teams, delivering services that support people to reduce substance use and reoffending.

  • Build, manage, and sustain partnerships that directly support service delivery.

  • Develop, implement, and facilitate West Midlands Criminal Justice Networks to share good practice and influence positive cultural change.

  • Support services to meet KPIs and outcome targets linked to OHID grant funding (monitored through NDTMS) and the national criminal justice strategy From Harm to Hope.

  • Provide strong line management, reflective supervision, and leadership that inspires performance and development.

  • Work alongside services, partners, and stakeholders to design creative, person-centred solutions that address barriers to recovery.

About You

We’re looking for someone who can combine strategic thinking with a collaborative and inclusive leadership style. You’ll bring:

  • Strong working knowledge of the National Drug Strategy and its links to criminal justice.

  • A track record of delivering quality services that create meaningful change.

  • A clear understanding of the criminal justice system and the risks and challenges that need to be managed.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain cross-partnership relationships at a senior level, ensuring joined-up and wrap-around support.

  • Experience in staff supervision, coaching, and team leadership.

  • A commitment to our values — being open, compassionate, and bold in everything you do.
