We have an exciting opportunity for a  Counsellor/Psychotherapist to join our Camden team 

 

Location: Camden

Full Time Hours: 22.5 per week 

Full time Salary Range: £27,861.26 - £31,065.94 dependent on experience, (based on full time working hours, pro rata for part time hours)

Allowance: £4,133.14 Inner London Weighting pro rata for part time hours

Contract: Fixted term until 31st March 2026

 

*Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the role: 

 

  • Provide effective, evidence-informed, outcome-focused short- and medium-term individual and/or group art/play therapy and/or counselling/psychotherapy interventions to children and young people as needed, including people with complex or specialist needs, across a range of settings
  • As directed by line manager, carry out initial screening and/or counselling/psychotherapy assessments, including using appropriate psychometric measures, for children and young people people referred to counselling.
  • Contribute to ensuring that the counselling provision in your service is to a high standard, is in line with the evidence base, and is accessible, bespoke, timely, efficient, effective and trauma-informed, meeting the standards of CGL and the relevant professional counselling body (e.g., BACP, UKCP).
  • Support line manager to develop the counselling/psychotherapy service, including with improved administrative processes, internal and external referral pathways, quality assurance and reporting systems, therapy tools, awareness-raising materials, etc.
  • Actively participate in and keep record of regular clinical supervision in line with requirements of relevant professional body

About you:

 

  • Level 4 qualification or higher in counselling/psychotherapy or equivalent from a credible training organisation that included at least 100 face-to-face tuitionhours and at least 50 hours of your own individual counselling/psychotherapy.Hold current registered membership of BACP or UKCP or HCPC (as an arts therapist) or have other relevant professional membership. 
  • Knowledge of key psychosocial interventions used within the substance use field  
  • An awareness of addiction and of the multi-systemic issues experienced by people affected directly and indirectly (family, friends) by substance andalcohol use e.g., stigma, poverty, discrimination, marginalisation
  • Evidence of clinical supervision and continuing professional development in line with relevant professional body’s guidelines
  • Experience of safeguarding and risk management practice
  • Knowledge of key psychosocial interventions used within the substance use field.
  • High level of IT literacy, including producing MS Word and using Excel documents, email and internet search engines, and using online video tools to provide counselling/psychotherapy
