Overview

Community Outreach & Engagement Worker
Be part of something new, bold and meaningful.

At Change Grow Live, we’re launching an exciting new service — the Liverpool River Service — and we’re lookingfor passionate people to help shape and deliver it from the ground up.

As a Community Outreach & Engagement Worker, you’ll play a vital role in connecting with individuals who are often furthest from support. Whether it’s people affected by substance use, street homelessness, or complex needs, you’ll be a visible, trusted presence — engaging people where they are, building relationships, and supporting them to access the help they need.

We Thrive by working together.

At Change Grow Live, we believe people thrive when they’re supported to succeed.
We recruit for potential, recognise and reward effort, and work in ways that are safe, healthy, agile and flexible.

Together as a team, we’re learning, growing and developing every day — identifying future talent and supporting leaders to emerge from every corner of our organisation.

We are committed to creating a culture where:

  • Everyone experiences a true sense of belonging, where every voice counts

  • We engage and connect with each other at all levels

  • Our people feel supported to grow, learn and thrive

  • We live our values — being open, compassionate and bold — in everything we do

This is more than just a job. It’s a chance to create meaningful connections, help people take their first steps toward change, and be part of a team that genuinely makes a difference.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Proactively engaging with people in the community who may not yet be accessing services

  • Building trust and supportive relationships with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences

  • Providing information, advice and guidance on harm reduction, treatment options, and wider support pathways

  • Working flexibly across community settings, including outreach and street-based work, to meet people where they are

  • Collaborating with partners and agencies to ensure seamless referrals and wraparound support

  • Promoting our service through events, drop-ins, and local networks to increase awareness and reach

Location: Liverpool
Hours: Full-time (37.5* hours per week)
Salary: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35* (depending on experience)

*Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours

Responsibilities

What you’ll bring:

  • A genuine passion for working with people who may feel excluded, misunderstood or unheard

  • Experience of community outreach, engagement or support work

  • A flexible and adaptable approach to working in a fast-paced, people-centred environment

  • Great communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly and respectfully

  • Confidence in working independently, while contributing to a supportive and collaborative team

  • An understanding of safeguarding and the importance of trauma-informed approaches

Why join us?

At Change Grow Live, we’re committed to creating the conditions for success — for the people who use our services and for the people who work and volunteer with us.

We offer:

  • A competitive salary and generous annual leave

  • Opportunities for career progression and professional development

  • Access to world-class learning and organisational development support

  • A culture of openness, flexibility, and trust

  • 1 hour a week (pro-rata if part time) wellbeing hour for your own wellbeing or professional development, enhanced annual leave and other benefits
  • other benefits: Change Grow Live employee benefits
