We have an exciting opportunity for a Recovery Champion who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs.  

 

No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key. 

 

Where: Coventry

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week 

Full Time Salary: £25,077.00 (based on full time hours, pro rata for part time) 

 

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the role: 

 

  • Provide a welcoming and consistent environment in open access area 
  • Create links with local communities and work to target people affected by drugs and alcohol who are not in touch with mainstream services – those isolated in communities, unaware of services, or who do not feel services are for them 
  • Attend team meetings/group supervision with the aim of sharing good practice and finding solutions 
  • Meet individuals within the community to discuss their personal goals regarding their recovery and to support families affected by drugs and alcohol to discuss their personal goals and support needs 
  • Utilise existing local resources and build local community awareness, signposting to relevant agencies 
  • Assist the Volunteer and peer Mentor Coordinator in setting up and identifying specialist advice /support and recovery opportunities.
  • Partially co-locate with Police / NPS IOMs (Integrated Management Team) at Little Park Street to build effective and pro-active relationships. 
  • Work with the OM teams to identify those IOMs with substance misuse issues not in treatmentActively engage this cohort to encourage those not in service to seek support. 
  • Actively re-engage service users that DNA appts, supported by the Police Liaison Recovery Champion. 
  • Attend relevant CJ meetings with key professionals when required
  • Support the Police in any County Lines action to support those vulnerable into treatment e.g. warrants / operations 
  • Ensure team are offering support to family /carers of service users by signposting family / carers to appropriate support including Cgl family groups
     

 

About you: 

 

  • Lived experience of drug or/and alcohol misuse 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with good IT skills 
  • Be able to build relationships with individuals with multiple needs, whilst remaining empathetic and non-judgemental toward Service Users 
  • Confident in working alone as well as part of a team 
  • Can remain calm under pressure 
  • Able to travel as required, including where public transport is not available 
  • Working knowledge of complex needs including mental health issues, domestic violence, homelessness, sex working, CJ
