We have an exciting opportunity to join the Newham Integrated Rough Sleeping Service (NIRSS) as part of the senior leadership team in the role of Street Outreach Team Leader.

 

The Newham Integrated Rough Sleeping Support Service (NIRSS) is a powerful partnership of outreach provision, day services and an accommodation pathway all within one delivery contract.The service provides a full pathway of services for people experiencing and exiting rough sleeping, including and assessment centre, move on support, day centre services and immigration advice.

 

 

 

Where: Hybrid Role - Home working and working sites across London borough of Newham

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week
Full Time Salary: £35,220.59- £37,184.91 Dependent on experience

Allowances: £4,133.14 Inner London Weighting, paid pro rata

Responsibilities

Working with local authority and commissioned partners, you will play a key role in minimising the time people spend on the street and getting the best possible life prospect secured for them. You will lead your team from the front as well as progreessing the longer term development of the service to new levels of excellence.

 

About the role: 

 

  • Support the Service Manager on the development and delivery of the Street Outreach Service to provide a high-quality service to people experiencing rough sleeping and the vulnerably housed, identifying, and supporting those with mental health issues and other support needs.
  • Manage and co-ordinate the operational delivery of all services to ensure that the service runs efficiently and effectively, making the best possible use of financial and human resources.
  • Operational line management of a team of staff which includes supervision (with reflective practice), appraisal, performance and sickness management as well as ensuring staff follow CGL and external policies applicable to their roles. 
  • Work with your team and Designated Safeguarding Lead (if not your role) to ensure that the practices within the team/service enable identification of service users, children and families who are at risk. Ensure that staff are competent in the delivery of interventions that reduce risk to service users. 
  • Support staff to improve service user outcomes through observed practice, providing timely values-based feedback. 
  • Lead on the recruitment, selection and induction of staff.
  • Ensure that the Street Outreach Service runs within allocated budgets and to ensure that all administrative and data requirements are met.
  • Ensure effective performance management arrangements are in place through data collection, reporting and analysis, and to lead regular performance management within the team.

 

About you: 

 

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience. 
  • Considerable experience of working with people that experience homelessness.
  • Knowledge and experience of developing and leading health and social care services and delivering services which evidence high performance and quality standards. 
  • Significant experience of leading teams who work with families where children are subject to social care intervention. 
  • Good working knowledge of risk assessment and care / recovery planning
  • Knowledge of current legislation surrounding children, young people, and safeguarding practice 
  • Able to lead, inspire and develop a team. 
  • Experience of meeting demanding targets and deadlines within financial constraints.

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
