Are you in recovery from Drug+/Alcohol misuse? Would you like to leverage that valuable experience to support others as a Peer Mentor in Lambeth and Islington.  If so, this is the perfect opportunity for you! We are currently offering a unique role as a DWP Peer Mentor.

This is a Fixed Term Contract Until 31st March 2026.

One position will be working in the borough of Lambeth and one position will be working across Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets.

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week 
Full Time Salary: £25,077.00 (pro rata for part-time hours) 

Allowance: £4,133.14 Inner London Weighting, Pro Rata

**please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

About the role:

• Inspire and support Mentees in managing dependencies, accessing appropriate support, and moving towards employment
• Engage individuals on a one-to-one basis to understand their goals and aspirations
• Empower and build confidence in mentees, providing emotional support as needed
• Collaborate on action plans, reviewing and evaluating impact
• Work with individuals to increase their confidence, empowering and supporting them to achieve their goals
• Work closely with DWP work coaches and local substance misuse services
• Complete, review and evaluate action/impact/support/care plans with mentees

About you:

• Lived experience of substance misuse and recovery
• Strong written, verbal, and IT skills
• Ability to build relationships with empathy and non-judgmental approach
• Confidence working both independently and as part of a team
• Calm and collected under pressure
• Ability to work with professional boundaries
• Excellent time management skills, and an ability to work on own initiative prioritising accordingly
