We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Educator and Training Lead to join our Wirral Team and co-located with Wirral Borough council.

 

Our Leaders here at Change Grow Live play an integral role in ensuring an effective service provision for our service users. This role will require you to the Community Educator and Training Lead  for the Wirral treatment service and Wirral Borough council and provide management support for internal and external training.

 

You’ll lead the development and delivery of a diverse, high-quality training programme for a wide range of audiences, including internal staff, partner agencies, healthcare professionals, community groups and businesses. Training content will cover drug and alcohol awareness, safeguarding, brief interventions, onward referral pathways, and broader wellbeing content.

 

Location: Wirral
Hours: Full Time 37.5 per week, 
Full Time Salary Range: £35,220.59 - £37,184.91 dependent on experience (based on full time working hours pro rata for part time)

Contract Type: Fixed term contract until the 31st of March 2026

 

*Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

 

Responsibilities

About the Role

This is a dynamic and outward-facing role where you’ll play a key part in raising awareness, embedding best practice, and developing the skills of professionals across the Wirral. You’ll lead on strategic partnership development, respond to local training needs, and deliver high-quality learning through both face-to-face and digital formats.

Your responsibilities will include designing and delivering training sessions, developing engaging content and schemes of work, coaching individuals and teams, and evaluating the impact of training across various settings. You’ll also line-manage a small number of staff as required, offering leadership and support to ensure consistent quality and delivery.

This role is co-located between Wirral Ways (Change Grow Live) and Wirral Borough Council, reflecting the importance of collaboration in achieving the best outcomes for the people we support.

About You:

We’re looking for someone who brings a blend of subject expertise, training experience, and a collaborative approach. You will have:

  • Significant experience delivering training and/or group work.

  • Experience developing training resources, content, and schemes of work.

  • Proven background in drug and alcohol, health, or safeguarding settings.

  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding practice, including statutory assessments, Early Help, Child in Need, and Child Protection frameworks.

  • Sound knowledge of children’s safeguarding including statutory assessments within Children’s Social Care and the continuum of need including Early help, Child in Need and Child Protection and relevant underpinning legislation and guidance such as the Children Act (1989 and 2004) and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding practice including responses to abuse, neglect and multiple deprivation.
  • Ability to adapt content for a range of audiences and learning styles.

  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and creating digital learning materials.

  • Experience evaluating training impact and tailoring delivery accordingly.

  • A flexible approach to working, including availability for occasional evenings and weekends.

  • A full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the borough.
