The Place Nottingham are a dynamic and innovative u25 service within Nottingham City, we are a specialist service supporting young people/adults up to the age of 25 in relation to substance use. We have an exciting opportunity for a Young Person's Resilience Worker to join us!

 

Where: Nottingham City - This is an office and community-based role. The successful candidate will be expected to engage directly, in person, with young people in the local community, including schools, colleges and community hubs.

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week

Full Time Salary: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 dependant on experience (based on full time hours, pro rata for part time hours)

Contract: 12 month fixed term contract from start date with the possibility of position being made permanent.

Responsibilities

As a Young Person’s Resilience Worker, you’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering interventions that empower young people (ages 10-18) to reduce risk, build resilience, and lead safer, healthier lives.

 

Your role includes joint working with agencies, facilitating communication, advising on substance use, delivering educational workshops, attending safeguarding meetings, and providing feedback.

 

You’ll manage a caseload, offering assessments, care planning, 1:1 and group interventions, outreach, and community events for young people using alcohol or drugs in Nottingham. Strong engagement skills, partnership working, and a solid understanding of safeguarding are essential.

 

About the role: 

  • Supporting young people from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey
  • Providing screening, assessment, psychosocial interventions, integrated care planning, post treatment support, including transfer of care
  • Identifying and responding effectively to potential safeguarding issues
  • Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to young people and the wider community
  • Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
  • Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
  • Working with young people to support positive, holistic outcomes in relation to their health and wellbeing, enabling them to lead safe, healthy, and purposeful lives: reducing risk and increasing resilience
  • Working flexibly across sites where required 

About you: 

  • Experience of working with young people and knowledge of the issues they face
  • Knowledge of safeguarding concerns in relation to children and young people and the Fraser Competence framework
  • Have an excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working
  • within a related field
  • Knowledge of working with evidence-based practice around young people’s substance misuse treatment services and methods, including relevant best practice guidance
  • An accomplished communicator, both verbal and written with a high degree of personal IT competency
  • Be able to accurately update and maintain records and to work to deadlines for the submission of information, e.g., reports
  • Have excellent team working and interpersonal skills, maintaining a highly cooperative
  • approach to supporting colleagues in delivering service objectives

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
