As HR Advisor joining Employment Relationship Team, you will be providing high quality HR advice to a range of employees, workers, managers, and directors. You will ensure your advice is values led, works to best practice and legislation, and covers a range of people related issues, queries, employment relations case work and organisational change including TUPE.   

You will be supporting the prompt and effective resolution of issues at the appropriate level and where you support formal investigations and hearings ensure those involved are treated with dignity, respect and compassion. You will ensure the processes are completed to a high standard and within policy and service level agreement timeframes.   

This role is mainly home based but there may be the occasional need to travel to work in one of our main regional hubs, which are either Brighton, Leeds, Manchester and Coventry.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all case management activity within assigned/ designated area/ or caseload. Responsible for providing proactive and comprehensive HR guidance and support to management in services and ensure good employment practices are followed at all times.  
  • Work closely with the Senior People Partner, HR Managers and other colleagues across the HR team to deliver a responsive and high-quality service to managers and staff. 
  • Work closely with the Executive Directors, Directors and Managers with appropriate HR meetings/hearings, organisational changes and project work. Providing HR advice, appropriately assessing risks and advising managers on management of the risks associated with employment legislation and non-legal risks.  Clearly and concisely communicating with and coaching managers to ensure effective solutions on employment relations and change management issues including TUPE are implemented.  
  • Work under the direction of the HR Managers and Senior People Partner to work and support employment tribunal cases, ACAS processes and other legal processes. Work with the organisation’s solicitors as agreed by a Senior People Partner. 
  • Support and advise managers with employment relations issues related to the position of trust cases, ensuring all are logged and supported in a timely manner. Support referrals to position of trust panels or medical decision-making groups and support referrals to external bodies as required. The post holder will escalate risk and issues with cases to directors and HR Management and/ or Senior People Partner as needed and work in collaboration with the Assurance team where expert safeguarding advice is required.  
  • Provide HR guidance and support to staff and management on issues relating to absence and ill-health, liaising with occupational health specialists when required. 
  • Lead on staff transfers as part of any award of new contract to Change Grow Live under the TUPE Regulations, ensuring all necessary legal documentation and policy are followed, staff are effectively engaged and consulted with and ensure a smooth and effective implementation is achieved. 
  • Attend and proactively contribute to operational teams, worker forums and other meetings as agreed and directed by the HR Managers or Senior People Partner. Proactively work with services so they meet their organisational and HR objectives and key performance indicators. 
  • Proactively work with Directors, Managers and the HR Management Team to identify improvements in practice and to implement project work, HR and organisational development initiatives. HR Advisors will review information from cases or utlising workforce information and other information sources to recommend any other interventions for individuals or services and work with partner teams such as the Together Team as appropriate. 
  • Responsible for the ongoing evaluation and learning from employment relations issues, organisational change, development and HR initiatives and to share learning within the wider HR team and Change Grow Live as required.  
  • Ensure Change Grow Live meet its legal obligations in the employment of staff. Responsible for proactively undertaking a review of new legislation or undertaking benchmarking and assisting in the development of appropriate employment policies and procedures and wider HR and organisational development initiatives.  
  • Assist in the development, implementation and delivery of core HR training workshops and online training and other workshops/sessions to support increasing the capability of managers. 
  • Develop and create HR management information reports for proactive use in HR team or with services to support proactive identification of organisational issues and developing effective solutions or signposting to other services/ interventions as required e.g., mediation service.  
  • This role will ensure their work meets all regulatory standards, data entry and accurate record keeping is maintained in line with GDPR standards.   
  • This role will develop effective working relationships with operational and other key stakeholders to promote and deliver HR services. 
  • Attend and fully participate and contribute towards team meetings, worker forums and others meetings as required.   
  • Undertake office duties including dealing with post for the team, photocopying, scanning, filing etc.  
  • Undertake other duties commensurate to the role. 

 

Requirements  

  • Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of employment law and HR best practice. 
  • Substantial HR experience. 
  • Excellent knowledge of employment relations management.  
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and experience of effectively influencing all levels of management. 
  • Ability to solve complex issues and explain those to others with excellent attention to detail. 
  • Experience of using HR data bases and case management systems 
  • CIPD or equivalent experience.  
  • Evidence and continuous commitment to continuous professional development.  
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced organisations. 
  • Administrative experience, including using MS office suite to accurately produce. letters, record data and other associated duties 
  • Ability to travel to various locations across the organisation.
