We’re excited to offer an opportunity for a Young Person’s Resilience Worker – Early Interventions with the passion, skills, and experience to support young people facing challenges around substance use and related needs. This role is key in ensuring timely, tailored interventions that make a real difference.

 

As part of a multi-disciplinary team within an integrated, all-age recovery service, you’ll work closely with partners across Health, Education, Youth Justice, and Children and Young People’s services to help young people reduce risk, build resilience, and lead healthier, safer lives.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building strong, trusting relationships with young people.

  • Supporting service users through assessment, care planning, psychosocial and safeguarding interventions.

  • Delivering 1:1 and targeted group work focused on prevention and early intervention.

  • Collaborating with key partners to ensure a joined-up, responsive approach for vulnerable young people.

  • Promoting the involvement of young people, families, and communities in shaping their support.

You’ll manage a diverse caseload across Nottinghamshire, providing outreach, community-based support, and engaging interventions for young people affected by alcohol or drug use. Strong engagement skills, partnership working, and a solid understanding of safeguarding are essential.

 

Where: County wide across Nottinghamshire. The majority of your time will be spent in the community, engaging directly with children and young people and working with a range of partners across the Nottinghamshire. Some of your time will be spent providing support remotely including online and telephone.  

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week

Full Time Salary: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 dependant on experience (based on full time hours, pro rata for part time hours)

Contract Type: Fixed Term until 31st March 2025. 

 

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the role: 

 

A significant proportion of the role will be focussed on contributing to the services early intervention, prevention and targeted offer in the  following areas:

  • Providing entry into service screening, assessments and brief interventions to young people who are using substances, that will include telephone, video, other digital and in person contact and communication methods.
  • Providing assessments and brief interventions that are appropriate to young people’s additional learning and developmental needs (e.g. SEND/SEMH)
  • Supporting the services partnership offer in education, including outreach delivery such as drop-ins, targeted group work and supporting educational programmes.
  • Ensuring  young people who may need more structured and intensive support are offered this and are supported to access and engage in this in the most appropriate and timely way.
  • Responding to enquiries from and liaison with professionals, partner agencies, families and carers and young people.

 

About you: 

 

  • Experience of working with young people and knowledge of the issues they face
  • Knowledge of safeguarding concerns in relation to children and young people and the Fraser Competence framework
  • Have an excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working
  • within a related field
  • Knowledge of working with evidence-based practice around young people’s substance misuse treatment services and methods, including relevant best practice guidance
  • An accomplished communicator, both verbal and written with a high degree of personal IT competency
  • Be able to accurately update and maintain records and to work to deadlines for the submission of information, e.g., reports
  • Have excellent team working and interpersonal skills, maintaining a highly cooperative
  • approach to supporting colleagues in delivering service objectives
