As a Single Point of Contact Recovery Worker with Change Grow Live you’ll work with people who use our services, helping them get to where they want to be.

 

Do you have experience in substance misuse? Would you like to work in an environment where you can use your experience and skills to achieve the best for people? If so, the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) needs you. SPOC is a very busy and integral part of Change Grow Live. It is the communication hub, and entry into services for the whole of Hertfordshire. We are looking for a full-time, telephone based recovery worker, who has thorough knowledge of addiction and substances to join our team.

 

Where: Stevenage

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week (This role does involve working some evenings and a Saturday, on a rota basis)

Full Time Salary: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35) (pro rata for part time hours)

Allowance: Outer London Weighting £683.99 (Pro Rata for part time hours)

Responsibilities

About the role: 

 

  • This is exclusively a telephone based role supporting service users from point of entry into the service through to allocation into hub
  • Taking phone calls from service users, carers and professionals, and dealing with a wide range of enquiries
  • Processing referrals, responding to queries from Children’s Services, GPs, Pharmacies
  • Completing triages and personalised assessments over the phone
  • Providing recovery planning during assessments
  • Providing harm reduction advice to clients during triages and personalised assessments
  • Providing advocacy for access to partnership services 
  • Give advice on addiction and substances to service users, professionals, friends and family
  • Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination 

 

About you:

 

  • Have a strong understanding of addiction and substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
  • Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals and agencies
  • Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
  • Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
  • Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others
