As Recovery Motivator at Change Grow Live you will support the delivery of high quality service provision by creating an ambitious service user focussed culture and engaging staff to provide a continually improving and innovative service. The Recovery Motivator role is designed to enable ‘first steps into employment’ and will be based within the Substance Misuse Setting.  We currently have a role available within our Nottinghamshire service- based in Worksop.

This role is 12 hours per week, and therefore suitable for someone who is in receipt of benefits.

 

Recovery Motivators are anticipated to be people who are themselves in recovery in respect of drug or alcohol use or people who have experience of living with drug or alcohol misuse within their family, who would like others to benefit from their experience. 

Recovery Motivators will work with those who are directly impacted by their own drug or alcohol misuse and the people who care for them, family members and friends; as well as working with key partners to empower communities.

Where: Worksop

Hours: Part time, 12 hours per week

Salary: £25,077.00 dependent on experience (based on full time working hours, pro rata for part time)

Contract Type: Fixed Term until 31st of March 2026

Responsibilities

About the role: 

  • Provide a welcoming and consistent environment in open access area 
  • Create links with local communities and work to target people affected by drugs and alcohol who are not in touch with mainstream services – those isolated in communities, unaware of services, or who do not feel services are for them 
  • Attend team meetings/group supervision with the aim of sharing good practice and finding solutions 
  • Meet individuals within the community to discuss their personal goals regarding their recovery and to support families affected by drugs and alcohol to discuss their personal goals and support needs 
  • Utilise existing local resources and build local community awareness, signposting to relevant agencies 
  • Assist the Volunteer and peer Mentor Coordinator in setting up and identifying specialist advice /support and recovery opportunities. 

 

About you: 

  • Lived experience of drug or/and alcohol misuse 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with good IT skills 
  • Be able to build relationships with individuals with multiple needs, whilst remaining empathetic and non-judgemental towards Service Users 
  • Confident in working alone as well as part of a team 
  • Can remain calm under pressure 
  • Able to travel as required, including where public transport is not available

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
