About the Role
Are you in recovery from drug and/or alcohol use and passionate about using your lived experience to inspire others? This is your opportunity to make a meaningful difference as a Peer Mentor in our DWP-funded project in Hull.
In this role, you will:
Inspire and support people in recovery to manage their dependencies and access the right support.
Work one-to-one with individuals to understand their goals, aspirations, and next steps towards employment.
Build confidence, provide emotional support, and empower people to take control of their recovery journey.
Collaborate with individuals to create, review, and evaluate action plans that help them achieve their personal and professional goals.
Work closely with DWP work coaches and local substance misuse services to ensure holistic and joined-up support.
Location: Hull, East Yorkshire
Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week
*Salary: £25,077 per annum (pro rata for part-time)
Contract: Fixed term until 31st March 2026
*Please note full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings compassion, resilience, and the ability to connect with people on a human level.

Lived experience of substance misuse and recovery.
The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with empathy and respect.
Confidence in working independently and as part of a supportive team.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
A commitment to working with clear professional boundaries.
