We are seeking a Senior Smoke Free Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital role in leading the new Peterborough Specialist Smokefree Project, you will oversee the Smokefree advisor and lead continuous improvement, risk management and quality assurance processes. You will take a lead in staff training, including across the existing CGL Aspire team

These interventions will be delivered either face-to-face within the community or remotely, and can be tailored for individuals or delivered in a group setting, depending on their needs.

 

Full time Hours: 37.5 hours per week 

Full Time Salary Range: £26,732 - £29,093.40 dependent on experience (Based on full time hours, pro rata for part time) 

Contract: Fixed term contract until March 31st 2026

Responsibilities

About the Role

In this role, you will play a key part in delivering a high-quality stop smoking service, helping individuals take steps toward healthier lives. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • To lead a specialist team providing brief advice and structured programmes to target groups in Peterborough.
  • To lead on key work-streams as required to ensure that services are appropriately tailored and targeted to specific target groups.
  • Keep up to date with policy developments in relation to smoking cessation.
  • Promoting the benefits of a smoke-free life and raising awareness of stop smoking services through community engagement and events.
  • Work within NRT, Champix, and E-cigarette protocols.
  • Provide Very Brief Advice training to health and social care professionals, and support pharmacists with nicotine replacement therapy and behavior support.
  • Engage with the community to raise awareness of smoking impacts and encourage referrals.

About You
We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience of providing line management, supervision and appraisals to staff or volunteers.
  • Experience working in health and/or social care settings.
  • Complete assessments and deliver interventions matched to identified needs
  • Knowledge of the harmful effects of smoking and an understanding of smoking cessation policies and treatments.
  • Provide behavioural support, using motivational interviewing techniques and the dispensing of Nicotine Replacement Products
  • A commitment to providing high-quality, person-centered services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic recording systems.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
