Overview

Change Grow Live are a charity dedicated to the belief that we can make a difference to our Service Users lives.

Our core values are ‘Be open, be compassionate and be bold’ and our teams apply these daily offering support and respect in a safe environment, treating each user as an individual and working with them to find the right treatment and care options.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Family Worker who has the skills and experience to provide specialised expertise in substance misuse as part of a multidisciplinary team assessing families and parents referred to the service. This includes conducting a rapid initial assessment of parents, followed by ongoing evaluations of their willingness and ability to engage in therapeutic work, their parenting capacity, and most importantly, ensuring the safety of their children. The role also includes contributing to the team’s intervention plan and working closely with local authorities, NHS, and independent sector resources to implement care plans, offering evidence-based interventions in community-based settings when appropriate.

Additionally, the role requires taking the lead in providing professional guidance and development on substance misuse within the Family Drug and Alcohol Court team. This includes developing clear care pathways and support systems for families affected by parental substance misuse, with the aim of improving the well-being of parents, children, and young people.

A key aspect of this role is presenting reports in a clear and authoritative manner in court on a regular basis, as well as contributing to multidisciplinary and multi-agency meetings. The role demands autonomy while also fostering close collaboration with FDAC colleagues. Furthermore, the post holder is expected to contribute to and participate in the evaluation of the service, ensuring continuous improvement and effectiveness.

We are willing to consider applications as on a secondment basis.
