We are looking for a Senior Harm Reduction Worker to join our Whitechapel service. We exist to help people achieve their goals, to be the best that they can be and to help change society for the better.

 

No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key. 

 

Where: Whitechapel

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week

Full Time Salary: £31,529.41 - £33,708.58 dependent on experience, pro rata for part time hours

Allowance: £4,072.06 Inner London Weighting, pro rata for part time hours

Responsibilities

About the Role:

 

  • To promote healthier lifestyles and enable service users to
    improve their own health and wellbeing.
  • To deliver training for multiple drug and
    alcohol specific domains for staff and Service Users of the Change Grow Live
  • Provide on-going support and refresher training for staff,
    stakeholder and other audiences
  • Lead on the implementation of alcohol and drugrelated specific resources for service users identified as an at risk or under- represented or disadvantaged group, including younger adults (18-24 years), people who identify as LGBTQIU, older people etc.
  • Raise awareness and promote services to the wider
    population and general public liaising closely with Public Health Specialists, Commissioners, and Health Promotion colleagues nationally and across the region.
  • Contribute to Public Health initiatives and campaigns via all relevant strategic and implementation groups
  • Lead the service Naloxone provision, including Naloxone Champions and stakeholder training, stock management, and leading on peer approaches
  • To deliver harm reduction education, awareness, and prevention trainings
  • To deliver workforce development and training across specific drug groupsand emerging trends i.e., cannabis, cocaine, club drugs, steroids, chemsex

 

About you:

 

  • Experience of delivering harm reduction interventions for both alcohol and drugs in one to one and group work settings.
  • Understanding of current developments and priorities in substance misuse policy at a national and local level.
  • Understanding of current substance misuse prevention, harm minimisation issues and evidence based practice
  • Experience and ability to develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate effective Health Promotion and Harm Reduction strategies and programmes related to individuals, communities and organisations that work with individuals with drug and/or alcohol use.
  • Contribute to maintaining safe systems of work and a safe environment
