As an apprentice with CGL, you have the opportunity to grow and learn whilst earning. Our apprentices will have a starting salary of £14,815.33 during their first year. After 12 months, your earnings will adjust to match the National Minimum Wage for your age. About the opportunity: We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing and Communication Apprentice to join our Newcastle Stop Smoking team. As a Marketing and Communication Apprentice you will raise the profile of the service through PR, advertising, digital communication, campaigns, research and events working alongside the Service Manager and other members of the CGL marketing team to deliver brand and marketing strategy.

 

During your apprenticeship, you will be working towards a L3 Multi-Channel Marketer apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Learn During Your Apprenticeship:

 

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll gain skills and experience in areas such as:

  • Write creative and engaging content for a wide range of purposes, including web, internal communications, advertising, editorial, PR and printed material.
  • Raise the services profile, using a targeted approach for different stakeholders and the wider public.
  • Create and distribute quarterly newsletters to Partners and Service Users including sourcing and writing case studies and news stories.
  • Conduct basic website tasks such as posting and modifying content.
  • To manage incoming marketing enquiries from staff, the public and external suppliers and respond or distribute as appropriate.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • An interest in the social care field, particularly in substance use and recovery.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to collaborate with managers, colleagues, and peers to achieve shared goals.
  • Effective time management and the ability to work independently when needed.
  • Familiarity with IT applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A commitment to personal and professional development, with a proactive approach to learning.
  • A passion for creating positive outcomes for the people we support and for yourself.
