he post holder will work as part of Service User Engagement Team, providing a single point of contact for all communication into Brighton and Hove, West Sussex, East Sussex and West Kent drug and alcohol services. The SUEC Team will work on a rota ensuring the service is fully operational 6 days per week, with service hours being Monday to Friday 9am - 8pm and Saturdays 10am – 2pm.

 

You will provide a combination of telephone triage, advice and brief intervention, onward signposting to universal services across Brighton and Hove, West Sussex, East Sussex and West Kent, as well as handling communication and enquiries from a wide range of professionals and partner organisations.

 

Where: Brighton

Part Time Hours: 18 per week 

Full Time Salary Range: £27,449.52 - £31,529.41 (pro rata for part time hours) 

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2025

Responsibilities

About the role: 

 

  • To provide an excellent first point of contact to all communication into West Kent, West Sussex, East Sussex, and Brighton and Hove drug and alcohol service
  • To carry out telephone triage assessments and provide advice and brief interventions as required
  • To route incoming calls to appropriate destination
  • To ensure all relevant information is recorded on CRIIS/Nebula where required
  • To listen and look after the needs of the service user, professionals and partners, showing a ‘can do’ attitude at all times
  • Document all call information according to standard operating procedures

 

 

About you: 

 

  • Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field 
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills 
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills 
  • Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice 
  • Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders 
  • Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards 
  • Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others
