About the Opportunity: Ealing are excited to announce new positions for Apprentice Recovery Workers to join our service! We are looking for. We’re on the lookout for passionate individuals from the vibrant Ealing borough to be part of something special. If you’re eager to make an impact in the Ealing community, this is a fantastic role for you!

As an Apprentice Recovery Worker at Change Grow Live, you will help the charity to fulfil its role in offering the best service to our service users. Whilst following the procedures and standards of Change Grow Live, including health and safety and equal opportunities, in relation to our staff, volunteers and clients. You will maintain the confidential information of Change Grow Live and our clients, meeting the time commitments and standards which have been mutually agreed and to give reasonable notice so other arrangements can be made when this is not possible.

Responsibilities

Some of the things you will learn about throughout your apprenticeship:

  • How to support the recovery team in engaging people who have substance misuse problems, providing them with advice, support and recovery focused interventions to support their recovery and primary health care needs
  • Over time and with training, build therapeutic relationships and deliver a tailor-made package of care
  • How to participate in service user assessments and learn to develop individual recovery plans that clearly identify how achieving each goal will enable progression in addressing substance use and re/integrating into the community
  • Service based recovery communities, and how they can support individual’s recovery journeys
  • How to accurately collect and record service based data
  • Risk assessments and risk management and how to complete the relevant paperwork
  • How other team members’ work, such as prescribing clinicians, nurses and
  • Psychologists
  • About the process of developing ‘recovery resources’ and accessing peer and mutual support groups so that you can support service users in developing their own recovery strategies

About you:

  • An interest in the social care sector, within the field of drugs and alcohol
  • Excellent team working and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to work with managers, colleagues, and peers in order to deliver service objectives
  • Good time management skills, and an ability to work on own initiative
  • Knowledge and experience of using IT applications such Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work and study in order to gain positive outcomes for service users
  • and yourself
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • A commitment to seek learning opportunities to improve and broaden your own professional knowledge
