Change Grow Live are a charity dedicated to the belief that we can make a difference to lives of the people using our service, offering support and respect in a safe environment, treating each person as an individual and working with them to find the right treatment and care options.

 

We are seeking a dedicated Research Practitioner to join an innovative pilot research project in collaboration with Cardiff University. This project focuses on collecting quantitative data from individuals who have received nursing interventions from street healthcare teams, with the aim of evaluating health and social outcomes. The role will involve working closely with both the intervention and control groups, as well as maintaining regular communication with academic partners throughout the study.

 

Where: To be decided - this role allows for hybrid working

Hours: 37.5 per week (Full Time)

Salary: £37,610.99 (based on full time working hours, pro rata for part time)

Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 28th February 2026.

 

Responsibilities

About the Project: This exciting new initiative, commissioned by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (now known as the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities - DLUHC) and the Centre for Homelessness Impact (CHI), aims to evaluate what works in ending rough sleeping and reducing homelessness. The CHI will place eight Street Healthcare Outreach Nurses in areas currently lacking this provision to assess the impact on the health of the local homeless population.

 

 

We are looking for someone who brings a combination of skills, experience, and passion for making a positive impact.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience as a Research Practitioner, or a solid understanding of research principles from a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with addiction services, substance misuse, homelessness, or working with street populations.
  • Experience with quantitative data collection (or willingness to develop these skills).
  • Proficiency in using electronic patient record systems.
  • A strong commitment to ethical practice and patient confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of research governance and its practical application.
  • Experience working in collaboration with academic institutions (or an openness to building these partnerships).

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
  • The ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
  • A flexible approach, with a willingness to work across various locations as required by the study.
