We have an exciting opportunity for a Floating Support Worker who has the skills and experience to manage a caseload of service users, ensuring that each client is provided with person centred support in regards to their recovery & housing needs. 

 

No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key. 

 

Where: Peterborough

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week

Full Time Salary: £27,449.53 - £31,529.41 dependent on experience, pro rata for part time hours 

Contract Type: Fixed term for 4 months 

Responsibilities

About the role: 

 

  • To identify and assess individuals in the community, co-ordinating a recovery plan with the service user to achieve their goals.
  • Establishing working relationships and referral pathways for those who are at risk of homelessness or in suitable accommodation
  • Work with service users with housing needs to address them and manage an effective tenancy whilst supporting them in their treatment goals.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working links/partnerships with community agencies and resources
  • Providing outreach support and guidance, empowering people, and providing them with the skills and confidence to be able to maintain and continue to make positive life choices
  • Advocate for individuals in a multi-agency setting where needed
  • Actively encourage service users to develop life skills, develop recovery and recovery capital

 

About you: 

  • Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field 
  • Have a good understanding of housing/cuckooing and how it relates to our service users
  • Knowledge of relevant interventions to support and sustain recovery
  • Experience of delivering person centred care
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills 
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills 
  • Show a capacity to work alone and the ability to keep calm under pressure
