A fantastic, new opportunity has arisen to become a Homelessness Recovery Co-ordinator, supporting rough sleeping individuals throughout their treatment journey and successfully supporting their move on intosuitablehousingarrangements. We are hoping this role will be for you.  This role will include driving our outreach van so a valid driving license is required.

 

You will be the key liaison between CGL services, local hostels and shelters, the local council and partners and will actively engage individuals with the services they need to support improved health, wellbeing, social inclusion and appropriate accommodation.

 

No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key. 

 

Where: Camberwell

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week

Full TIme Salary: £27,449 - £31,529 dependent on experience, pro rata for part time hours 

Contract Type: Fixed Term for 5 Months

Responsibilities

About the role: 

 

  • Establish effective communication and referral pathways those individuals who are
    homeless and in contact with other health and care agencies
  • Attend relevant multi-disciplinary team meetings supporting links to health and social
    care services, peer support networks, community assets and mutual aid
  • Coordinate the transfer of any accommodated out of area individual
  • Increase and enhance partnership working with primary care, mental health services,
    housing and other voluntary organisations who are supporting rough sleepers
  • Providing advocacy for access to partnership services 
  • Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination 

 

About you: 

 

  • Prior knowledge and experience of working with people who are homeless, sleeping rough or sofa surfing
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills 
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills 
  • Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice 
  • Experience of engaging with a wide variety of individuals with a variety of backgrounds and needs
  • Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users 
  • Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards 
  • Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others
