Exciting opportunity - Training & Information Worker

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Derbyshire Young Peoples Service in the role of Training & Information Worker. Working with and under the direction of the management team, our training & information worker ensures that our relationships with external partners & professionals leads to best possible outcomes for young people in Derbyshire.

 

The training & information worker collaborates with external agencies and partners to upskill the wider workforce. Delivering a range of interactive and engaging training sessions, the postholder will increase confidence in professionals and improve awareness & visibility of the service.

 

The postholder will also develop training packages on a range of topics, centring around drug & alcohol use and the associated risks amongst young people, utilising a continuous improvement ethos responding to need & feedback amongst delegates.

 

Additionally, the training & information worker will represent the service across professional networks, taking a lead role in service visibility, and working closely with key stakeholders & partners.

 

Where: This role will be based across Derbyshire

Hours: 22.5 Hours Per Week (3 days)

Salary: £27,449.53- £31,393.77 dependant on experience (based on full time working hours, pro rata if part time)

Responsibilities

About the role: 

  • Building and maintaining positive working relationships with key community partners/stakeholders, e.g., local authority, social care, youth teams, schools etc.
  • Leading on the development of training packages, ensuring engaging and interactive content which caters to range of learning styles & experience levels.
  • Researching literature and consulting with young people, partners, and wider service team to identify key issues/trends to inform training delivery.
  • Develop & facilitate an annual diary of training sessions, working with local authority partners.
  • Lead on opportunities to enhance service visibility, e.g. representation within professional networks/meetings.
  • Lead contact for professional/student placement opportunities (e.g. school nursing, CAMHS, etc)  
  • Accurately maintain monitoring and evaluations of work undertaken to demonstrate service outcomes and targets, including the writing & development of quarterly & annual reports.
  • Facilitate/deliver training to a range of partners stakeholders in a flexible way, accommodating variance in knowledge level, learning styles, group size, dynamics, psychological safety, etc.
  • Engage in team meetings, service development days, and 1:1/group supervision in a meaningful way.
  • Contribute to the services digital offer of interventions e.g. development of content for use on social media.

About you:

  • Knowledge & experience of working with young people, drug & alcohol use, and the wider issues impacting this group. 
  • Working knowledge of safeguarding children, with an understanding of professional accountability.
  • Knowledge & awareness of theoretical models relevant to engagement with young people (e.g. psychosocial interventions, motivational interviewing, trauma informed care).
  • Experienced in the devleopment & facilitation/delivery of professionals training, including continuous improvement, evaluation & feedback
  • Excellent communicator & relationship builder. 
  • Digitally competant & confident.
  • Dynamic & flexible.
