Where: Camden

Salary: £27,449.53 - £31,529.41 Based on Full Time, Pro Rata for part time (dependent on experience)

Allowances: £4,072.06 Inner London Weighting, Pro Rata for part time

Hours: Full Time, 37.5 per week

Responsibilities

About the Role:

As a Specialist Alcohol Worker, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting individuals through their recovery journey. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Providing Tailored Support: From their first steps with us, you’ll guide individuals through personalised treatment and recovery plans.
  • Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct in-depth screenings and assessments, ensuring that each person receives the holistic care they need.
  • Delivering Alcohol Programs: Facilitate engaging, effective alcohol support programs that help individuals achieve lasting recovery.
  • Harm Reduction: Actively work to reduce the harms associated with alcohol use, benefiting individuals and the wider community.
  • Promoting Involvement: Foster engagement from carers and the wider community, ensuring everyone’s voice is heard in shaping the support provided.
  • Advocacy and Access: Break down barriers to support, advocating for crucial partnership services.
  • Reintegration Support: Help individuals reconnect with their communities, promoting recovery, resilience, and self-determination.
  • Community Engagement: Build connections with employers and the wider community to support people on their recovery journey.

 

About You:

Here’s what makes you a great fit for this role:

  • Expertise in Alcohol Support: You have experience supporting individuals with alcohol use, and you’re knowledgeable about alcohol detoxification and the associated withdrawal risks.
  • Psychosocial Intervention Skills: You’ve delivered tailored psychosocial interventions, offering compassionate, skilled guidance.
  • Crisis Support Experience: You bring expertise in crisis support, case management, group facilitation, and peer-led interventions.
  • Substance Misuse Knowledge: You have a background in substance misuse or a related field, equipping you to effectively support those on their recovery journey.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to helping others.
  • Expertise in conducting comprehensive assessments and creating effective treatment plans.
  • The ability to manage change while keeping individuals’ needs at the forefront.
