Exciting Opportunity: Family Safeguarding Recovery Coordinator

 

Are you experienced, skilled, and passionate about making a meaningful difference? We're seeking a dedicated Recovery Coordinator to engage and assess our service users, ensuring they receive timely, personalised interventions that cater to their unique needs. With this role you’ll be working as part of the Family Safeguarding team, based in Burnley.

 

We are looking for a passionate and committed individual with a particular interest in working with people who are being supported by Children’s Social Care where support for alcohol and/or drug use has been identified as part of the Lancashire Family Safeguarding Team.

 

The Family Safeguarding Team aims to keep the highest risk children and families in Lancashire together safely, improve health and educational outcomes for the children and reduce physical and emotional harm in families.

 

At our Burnley service, we are dedicated to providing support for individuals who access our services. We aim to empower every individual by offering holistic support and personalised treatment to meet their unique needs. We provide a range of options, including one-to-one and group sessions, complemented by medical and clinical treatments.

 

Where: Burnley

Hours - Full Time: 37.5 per week

Full Time Salary Range: £27,449.53 - £31,529.41 Pro Rata for part time hours 

Responsibilities

The Role:

  • Offering support to service users from the point of entry into the service throughout their treatment journey.
  • Conducting screening, assessment, and developing recovery plans with onward referrals.
  • Minimising harm related to drug and alcohol use for both the individual and the wider community.
  • Advocating access to partnership services.
  • Collaborating with each individual to facilitate social (re)integration, empowering them to lead meaningful lives, emphasising recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.
  • Work closely with local Children’s Services Teams and CGL’s Drug and Alcohol Team
    members to support families to access relevant support.
  • Work with families to help develop their life skills.
  • Complete Home Visits, drug testing and complete Parenting Needs Assessments.

 

About You:

To thrive in this role, we're looking for someone who:

  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of substance misuse issues and has experience in this or a related field.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, coupled with proficient IT skills.
  • Takes a proactive approach, working well independently with strong time management and ability to prioritise work.
  • Holds a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and best practices.
  • Is a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with a diverse range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Can successfully manage change while prioritising the needs of those who use our service.
  • Actively seeks learning opportunities to enhance professional knowledge and skills, contributing to the learning and development of others.
  • Experience of working with families displaying challenging behaviour.
  • Knowledge of current legislation surrounding young people, families and safeguarding practice.
