Our Deputy Service Managers here at Change Grow Live play an integral role in ensuring an effective service provision for our service users by creating a focused culture, engaging staff to provide an innovative and continually improving service and provide leadership, support, and development to a wide range of staff.    

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Service Manager to join our Newham Service. As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work flexibly and creatively to establish what is needed to have the most positive impact for all who are referred to our service. 

 

Location: Newham

Full Time Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Full Time Salary: £43,814.50 - £48,183.48 Dependent on experience (paid pro rata) 

Allowance: £4,072.06 Inner London Weighting

Responsibilities

About the role:  

 

  • To support the Services Manager to lead on the development of the Service to provide easily accessible, non-judgemental, and confidential services, which support service users in reducing harm, engaging with treatment and moving towards recovery.
  • To manage and coordinate the activities of the service, including management of the staff team, sessional workers and volunteers, so that the service runs efficiently and effectively, making the best possible use of financial and human resources.
  • To provide line management, supervision and leadership to achieve performance outcomes and quality in line with service level and contractual arrangements.
  • To maintain excellent communication and partnerships with local commissioning bodies, sub-contractor partners, statutory and third sector agencies and other key contacts.
  • To develop links with partner services within the communities to increase contacts and referral networks.
  • To support the Services Manager in managing and coordinate the activities of the service, including overseeing the staff team, sessional workers, sub-contractors and volunteers/peer mentors, so that the service runs efficiently and effectively, making the best possible use of financial and human resources.
  • To ensure the safety of all staff and clients by implementing risk assessment procedures and monitoring the maintenance of health, safety, and security procedures in the working environment.
  • To be prepared to participate in and make use of supervision, appraisal and other learning and development opportunities in line with Change Grow Live policies.
  • To ensure effective performance management through data collection, reporting and analysis.
  • To lead on, understand fully, and ensure the key performance indicators set for the service are comprehensively understood and met across the service.

 

About you:  

 

  • Considerable experience of working at a management level within substance misuse services including alcohol, drug and
    criminal justice with a clear understanding of the need for and ability to deliver quality services.  
  • A demonstrable understanding of performance management frameworks, effective governance and quality management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the possible recovery pathways available across whole treatment and recovery systems including community, residential and prison provision.
  • Experience of managing project development and leading a service operation.
  • Experience that demonstrates administrative and financial management skills.
  • Experience of data collection systems, information technology.
  • Experience of staff supervision.
  • Experience of working within and managing contracts, service agreements and service delivery systems.
  • Identifying gaps in service and adopting a problem-solving approach.
