We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Chemsex Worker to join our passionate and dedicated lewisham team. In this role, you will provide support to individuals that are experiencing difficulties with club drug use and supporting those engaged in Chemsex. You will hold a caseload of clients and be responsible for their assessment, case planning, review, and ongoing care. You will provide person-centred care that reflects the rights, preferences, and choices of individuals in an environment that is safe, healthy and maintains the individual’s dignity and wellbeing.

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week

Full Time Salary: £31,529.41 - £33,708.57 (pro rata for part time hours)

Allowances: £4,072.06 Inner London Weighting (pro rata for part time hours0

Contract type: Fixed term until 31st March 2025

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Support individuals engaging in or impacted by those engaged in Chemsex
  • Co-develop and deliver workshops covering ham reduction and relapse prevention skills specific to individuals engaging in Chemsex
  • Deliver outreach and support at partner locations, including local sexual health services, community venues
  • Build relationships and collaborations within the sexual health and drug & alcohol sector
  • Deliver assessments and care planning to support individuals in meeting individual goals

To excel in this role, you should:

  • Demonstrable relevant experience in crisis support/intervention, key working/case management, group facilitation and peer-led interventions
  • Experience in the field of substance misuse or a related field is preferred but we will welcome applications from all backgrounds if you share our values and are committed to learn
  • Specific knowledge of the substance use and sexual health needs of individuals
  • Have a flair for developing productive multidisciplinary relationships
  • Experience of defining, developing, implementing, and evaluating interventions and services
  • An ability to collaborate with people from a wide range of backgrounds in a variety of settings in a respectful and empowering way
