We're thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a Senior Worker/Practitioner

 

You will possess the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users. In this role, you'll be an integral part of the Adult Substance Misuse Service based in Waltham Forest, carrying a caseload of service users and providing support throughout their treatment journey.

 

Our team comprises a diverse and dynamic blend of professionals, ranging from service managers, consultant psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants, recovery staff, volunteers, administrators, to peer mentors. Together, we are committed to providing comprehensive support and medical interventions tailored to meet the needs of individuals accessing our service.

 

Where: Waltham Forest

Hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: £31,529.41 - £33,708.58 dependent on experience

Allowance: £2,163.27 Outer London Weighting 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

 

  •  Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey
  • Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral
  • Reducing drug and alcohol-related harm to service users and the wider community
  • Promoting carer, service user, and community involvement
  • Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
  • Supporting and developing colleagues
  • Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.

About you:

  • Strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience in a similar field
  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with good IT skills
  • Proactive and able to work on your initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
  • Good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
  • Supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in partnership with various professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage change successfully, prioritising the needs of service users
  • Understanding of the importance of information governance processes and commitment to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
  • Eagerness to seek learning opportunities to improve professional knowledge and skills, contributing to the learning and development of others.
