As a Social Work Lead with Change Grow Live you’ll work with people who use our services, helping them to reach their own goals.

 

Change Grow Live (CGL) Stockton Recovery Service is an integrated community substance misuse service and provides access to a range of interventions and treatment options for adults, families and young people experiencing issues with drugs and/or alcohol, promotion a focus on recovery.

We have an exciting opportunity for a specialist Social Work Lead (Children and Families) to join our service. The post holder will enhance current provision and provide specialist advice and guidance to the wider team regarding safeguarding and care and support needs.

 

The post holder will not be responsible for conducting the work of a statutory social worker but will work across Stockton Recovery Service and Stockton Borough Council Childrens social work teams, to support a shared strategic vision, improve joint working, reduce stigma and improve outcomes for children and families. The position will have the benefit of being collocated across both services and will have a wide range of varied support across both partnerships from which to draw expertise and guidance.

 

Hours: 37.5 per week.

Salary: £36,635.37 - £43,814.50 (dependent on experience)

Responsibilities

About the role:

  • This role will play a key part in developing the support offer and will work flexibly and creatively to establish what’s needed to have the most positive impact for people who use services.
  • You will be providing advice and consultation on risk, safeguarding and complex needs.
  • You will support recovery coordinators with completing and review referrals and actions.
  • You will represent the service at various external meetings such as ETAC, PITSTOP and many more.
  • Work in partnership with Stockton Borough Council Childrens Social Work Teams to support positive outcomes for children, young people and their families.
  • You will facilitate empowerment of teams and individuals to increase knowledge, skills and professional confidence
  • Work alongside the leadership team to meet strategic objectives in relation to social work practice.
  • This role will be proactive supporting the wider integrated care system to develop knowledge and skills across the sectors, this will include close working relationships with children and adult social care, police, hospital safeguarding teams.
  • Offer operational line management for Family Recovery Coordinators working specifically with parents/carers who use substances.
  • Co-location across Children’s Services Social Work teams.

About you:

  • Hold a valid qualification in Social Work and be registered with the regulatory body.
  • Completed ASYE
  • Experience of working with substance misuse and related complexities.
  • Good working knowledge of children/adult social care system.
  • Experience and knowledge on the working practice of Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults.
  • Experience of developing and sustaining positive working relationships
    with a range of professionals.
  • Experience of positively engaging with people who use our service.
  • Experience of working with children and families in any setting (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of local safeguarding protocols (Desirable)
  • Experience of line management/supervision (Desirable)
  • Experience of working to meet strategic priorities set out by national drug strategy (desirable)
  • Experience of development or delivery of parenting programmes (Desirable)
