Overview

A key vision for the Change Grow Live integrated drug and alcohol service in Norfolk is to develop recovery communities across the borough to support service users in developing recovery capital to support sustained recovery.


The BRIC Coordinator will lead on Asset Based Community Development and will work with multiple partners, service users, peer mentors, volunteers, recovery networks and community groups to support the development of recovery communities.


The BRIC Coordinator will recruit and train a team of Service User Reps, Peer Mentors, Community Mentors and Volunteers to join the multi-disciplinary team of Change Grow Live Norfolk to provide peer support and the community delivery of a comprehensive range of interventions across a specific locality in Norfolk.


The BRIC Coordinator will be responsible for the development of partnerships with community networks and community groups to engage and establish links in order to deliver Recovery Activities in partnership with, and within the wider community.

The BRIC Coordinator will pro-actively support the development, promotion and assertive linkage to mutual aid networks across Norfolk.


The BRIC Coordinator will be responsible for working with the Services Manager to identify key opportunities for the identification, development and growth of social enterprise and other innovative practice

 

Where: Great Yarmouth 

Hours: 37.5 per week 

Salary: £34,700.09 - £36,635.38 Per year (dependent on expereince)

Contract Type: Fixed Term

Responsibilities

Key Activities:


▪ Lead on the recruitment and delivery of the Peer Mentor, Community Mentor & Volunteers Programme and to train a team of Service User Reps to support Service Users who are engaged in the treatment services across Norfolk and those who have left the treatment system and are accessing recovery support.


▪ Take a coordinating role in aspects of the overall volunteer strategy for the Norfolk Service in an area of their specific expertise- e.g. Community Mentoring, Affected Others, Service User Reps, Volunteers etc.


▪ Support Asset Based Community Development by establishing, promoting and creating assertive linkage with community groups and organisations including the voluntary and faith sector.


▪ Act as the conduit to identify existing untapped funding streams to assist Service Users and Peer Mentors in the development of social enterprise activities and Community Interest related development.


▪ Develop robust partnership working arrangements with Criminal Justice agencies, hospitals and providers of other specialist and non-specialist services to promote peer mentoring and volunteering roles within the Norfolk systems and wider mainstream settings.


▪ Liaise with the Locality Manager/Deputy Services Manager to identify peer mentor and volunteering requirements that will compliment service delivery and serve to reduce relapse and re-offending in the locality– this will include provision of peer led services and community programmes to support service users to reintegrate successfully into the community.


▪ Produce reports on the activity and effectiveness of community inclusion across the service.


▪ Engage proactively with both line management and supervision of Peer Mentors/Volunteers and maintain a current knowledge of appropriate interventions.


▪ To ensure that all safeguarding issues, including child protection and protection of vulnerable adults, are dealt with in accordance with Change Grow Live policies and procedures and local and national guidance and legislation.


▪ To provide recovery coaching using a broad range of psychosocial interventions including therapeutic and educational group work.


▪ To recognise personal and professional boundaries and work within Change Grow Live’s clinical governance framework at all times.


▪ To implement and participate in staff rotas to ensure the service is appropriately staffed according to commissioning requirements.


▪ Present a professional image and actively promote the service at all times to service users, other stakeholders, partnership organisations and the general public.
