We are seeking a passionate Mental Capacity Act (MCA) Business Partner to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of those we support.

 

Where: Nationwide - This position provides the flexibility of a hybrid working arrangement, allowing employees to balance their work responsibilities between remote and on-site at one of our regional buisness office locations.

Hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: £47,085.94-£52,541.86 Pro Rata (dependent on experience).

 

Responsibilities

 

As our Mental Capacity Act (MCA) Business Partner, you will collaborate closely with our National Safeguarding Manager to ensure compliance with legal and ethical principles outlined in the MCA 2005. You'll champion the rights and well-being of individuals lacking mental capacity and provide guidance and support to staff in decision-making processes within our organisation.

 

About the role: 

  • Lead the national development, delivery, and implementation of Mental Capacity Act (2005) training programs and resources across Change Grow Live.
  • Collaborate with the National Audit Manager to conduct regular audits of MCA practices within the organisation, preparing comprehensive reports of findings and recommendations.
  • Provide expert advice, support, and guidance on MCA (2005) to local and regional teams across Change Grow Live, ensuring consistent compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Facilitate local and national spaces and forums for collaboration and learning, promoting awareness, knowledge, and confidence in relation to MCA practices.
  • Support the development and implementation of MCA policies, procedures, and new ways of working, working closely with members of the wider Assurance Team to ensure effective integration into practice.
  • Represent the Safeguarding and Quality Improvement Team in a range of local, regional, and national forums and groups, providing expert input and contributing to the development of best practices.
  • Provide regular updates to the wider organisation on changes in MCA legislation and best practices, ensuring that staff remain informed and up-to-date.

About you: 

To thrive in this role, we're looking for someone who:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading on the delivery of the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) within a complex organisational setting, ideally in a Health and Social Care environment, or similar field.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, fostering effective communication and collaboration to achieve common goals regardless of background or role.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess, interpret, and present data effectively to inform decision-making and drive improvement, accommodating diverse learning styles and preferences.
  • Openness to learning, collaboration, and continual improvement, with a proactive and optimistic approach to overcoming challenges and embracing uncertainty, welcoming diverse perspectives and experiences.
  • Ability to share knowledge and skills with colleagues, contributing to the development of team members from all backgrounds and promoting a culture of continuous learning and development for everyone.
